Good questions,
answered plainly.

Clear answers are part of the concierge service. If something here is not covered, ask—DWC-IT would rather explain it once properly than sell around it.

Category 01

IT Hardware

01What information does DWC-IT need to quote equipment?+

Whatever you have. A complete bill of materials is ideal, but a diagram, a photograph of a device label, or a plain description of the outcome is enough to start. Filling in the gaps—optics, modules, power, mounting and licensing—is part of the service rather than something you have to finish first.

02Can DWC-IT handle a mixed-brand requirement?+

Yes. Combining networking, server, storage, optics, power and accessory items across several manufacturers into one manageable purchase is a routine request. Consolidating those items is usually where the administrative saving on a project appears.

03Which purchasing methods are supported?+

Enterprise net terms, credit cards, PayPal, P-cards and consolidated purchase orders. If your organization has a specific procurement route, mention it early and we will work within it.

Refurbished Equipment

01Does DWC-IT only sell refurbished equipment?+

No. DWC-IT can source new equipment through authorized distribution, unused or non-deployed equipment, and professionally refurbished hardware. The recommendation depends on availability, application, risk and budget—and all three options are put in front of you where they are relevant.

02When is refurbished the better choice?+

Commonly when a platform is no longer carried by distribution, when a manufacturer lead time will not fit the deployment date, or when the role is spares, lab, disaster recovery or an expansion of an existing generation. It is a decision about fit, not a discount tier.

03How is condition described?+

In writing, before you commit. Condition, channel and origin are disclosed on the quote. DWC-IT has been part of the refurbished IT industry since 1977 and company leaders have served as presidents and ethics board members of the industry trade associations—disclosure is the standard the business was built on.

IT Asset Recovery (ITAD)

01What happens to retired equipment in an ITAD project?+

Depending on the program, assets may be inventoried, securely processed, refurbished, resold, repurposed or responsibly recycled. Data destruction and logistics requirements are shaped around your needs and agreed before anything is collected.

02Who are asset recovery programs for?+

Both corporate end users refreshing an estate and value-added resellers who need a dependable disposition layer behind a customer project. Financial and healthcare environments with specific data security requirements are supported as part of the same program design.

03Will we recover any value from the equipment?+

Sometimes, and it depends on platform, generation, configuration, quantity, condition and current demand. Where resale or repurposing is practical it is pursued; where equipment has no realistic value, DWC-IT will say so rather than build an expectation around it.

Category 04

Data Destruction

01Is data destruction included in a disposition project?+

It is defined as part of the program. Requirements differ between a general office refresh, a regulated financial environment and a healthcare estate, so the destruction standard, documentation and reporting are agreed before collection is scheduled.

02Sanitization or physical destruction?+

Both are available. Where equipment is returning to service or going to resale, media can be sanitized and the result recorded. Where policy or regulation requires it, media is physically destroyed instead, with documentation returned against the serial list.

03How is chain of custody handled?+

Assets are inventoried with serials captured, transported under controlled handling, and processed to the agreed standard through the DWC-IT partner and warehouse network. Documentation is returned for your records.

Category 05

Contract Management

01Is the maintenance contract management service really free?+

Yes. DWC-IT provides maintenance contract and license management at no charge. It exists because visibility of what you own and when its coverage ends makes every other conversation more useful.

02What does the service actually give us?+

A clear graphical view of what is under maintenance, where it is and when contracts expire—held at the serial number, with contract numbers, vendors, entitlement levels and status recorded alongside.

03Do we have to move off our current records?+

No. The DWC-IT register sits alongside whatever you already use. The point is a second, independent set of eyes so coverage questions do not depend on one person being reachable.

Category 06

Licensing

01Is license management separate from contract management?+

It is part of the same free service. License agreements are tracked in the same register as maintenance contracts and tied to the assets or environments they cover.

02What is recorded against a license?+

The agreement and its number, the vendor, the assets or environment covered, the support level, the term and renewal dates, the current status and the internal owner the renewal should reach.

03How does this reduce risk?+

It removes the single point of failure. Two sets of eyes on license and maintenance agreements is better than one—particularly when that one person is on vacation or has changed role since the agreement was signed.

Mainframe Services

01How is mainframe optimization priced?+

DWC-IT describes the engagement as contingent: when the analysis cannot produce savings while preserving required performance, the client does not pay a fee for the optimization engagement.

02What does our team have to do?+

Run the data collection. DWC-IT supplies instructions for VSAM and DB2 collection, and the effort involved is typically a couple of man hours. The tools monitor and report—they do not change data, workloads or configuration.

03What kind of result is realistic?+

It varies by environment, which is why the analysis exists. DWC-IT cites a client example of a 1000 MSU machine where course-of-contract savings were $1,000,000 following an engagement using NeuroTune.ai. That is one example rather than a forecast for your estate.

Category 08

ISP / WISP Supplies

01Which technologies does DWC-IT supply for operators?+

Cambium, Tarana, Ceragon and MikroTik among others, plus personalized optics, APC UPS and power protection, enclosures, fiber and the consumables that go with a site build. Other manufacturers can be sourced on request.

02Can supply be staged across a phased build?+

Yes. Operators rarely buy once, so delivery can be staged against site phases and working windows rather than arriving as a single shipment.

03Can you help specify optics for both ends of a link?+

Yes. Personalized optics are coded and configured for the platforms at each end, and cable, patching and connectors are specified against the actual requirement rather than a generic list.

Category 09

General Support

01How do we reach support?+

Call the main number on (800) 977-7473 or email conrad@dwc-it.com. Online chat is coming soon; in the meantime dialing the main number notifies the team immediately.

02We are an existing customer and need portal access.+

Existing contract management customers have their own login for the register. Contact DWC-IT directly to restore access or add a new user.

03Do you work with resellers as well as end users?+

Yes. VARs and service providers use DWC-IT to add sourcing, infrastructure supply and ITAD capability behind their own customer projects without building it internally.

STILL LOOKING

Didn’t find
your answer?

Ask the question directly. If DWC-IT cannot help with it, you will be told that plainly rather than sold something adjacent.
